IN-HOUSE DESIGN FOR KATHY DAVIS STUDIOS

Some of my concepts, designs and artwork for Kathy Davis Studios. Kathy Davis is a national greeting card and lifestyle brand distributed by American Greetings.

Maintaining the look, feel and message of the KDS brand and its various sub-brands and unique stylings was paramount in all my work. As an in-house designer at Kathy Davis I learned the importance of consumer research, brand integrity and nuanced messaging. I innovated as both a designer and a production specialist with folds, special processes, product formats, style/direction, concepts and compositions, predominately designing with painting, copywriting and lettering by fellow studio artists. On occasion I incorporated my original artwork approved for KDS collections as well. These included abstract watercolor paintings and textures and a collection of linocut stampings which enriched the designs of others as well.
